FirstPour vs Lightspeed: which POS for your bar or café?

Short version: Lightspeed Restaurant is a platform for restaurants: kitchen screens, menu engineering, prices from €89 to €249 a month plus €49 per extra license.

FirstPour is built for businesses without a kitchen obligation: customer tabs that survive the close, stock down to the centiliter and a day that locks itself, sealed. €29.99 flat, everything included, your whole team with it, no annual contract.

What a bar is missing at Lightspeed

Lightspeed's restaurant page leans on restaurant hardware: kitchen screens, table plans for a starter-and-main service, menu engineering per dish. A bar without a kitchen pays into functionality it will never open.

What's missing is bar-specific: no customer tab that survives the night and stays separate from your revenue until someone settles it. And the price climbs with every extra tablet: ±€49 a month per extra license, on top, no matter which plan you picked.

The math

Take a bar with one main till and two tablets, three licenses total. At Lightspeed, that means the Basic plan (one license included, €89/month) plus two extra licenses (2 × €49): €187 a month, or €2,244 a year.

FirstPour costs €29.99 a month, flat. Everything included, your whole team and all your devices, no extra license costs: €359.88 a year.

That's €1,884.12 less a year, for a till that keeps tabs, counts stock down to the centiliter and shows losses in euros: things no Lightspeed plan does. If your business does run a kitchen under a GKS obligation, that math changes: then you're paying for a certified till we don't provide.
